If you are worried that your child is not participating and learning well at school, talk to your child’s doctor, teachers, or administrators at the school. In addition to your medical benefits covered by L.A. Care, there are services the school must provide to help your child learn and not fall behind.
Services that can be provided to help your child learn include:
- Speech and Language Services
- Psychological Services
- Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Assistive Technology
- Social Work Services
- Counseling Services
- School Nurse Services
- Transportation to and from school
The California Department of Education provides and pays for these services. Together with your child’s doctors and teachers, you can make a custom plan that will best help your child.
