Children’s Developmental Screening
California ranks 23rd in the nation when it comes to conducting developmental screenings for infants and toddlers. In fact, only 38% percent of infants and toddlers in the state receive timely developmental screenings. For this reason, L.A. Care has partnered with First 5 LA to help increase the number of developmental screenings and interventions in Los Angeles County.
Health care providers are often the first line of defense. Screening early leads to more successful long-term outcomes. Together, we can make sure all families are supported and provided resources to benefit their child’s developmental health.
By incorporating developmental screening and monitoring into primary care, you can help make the system better for the families you serve in your community – and improve the referral process for families everywhere.
