The Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County and the Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers hosted the 24th Annual Southern California Health Care Symposium on Friday, April 4, 2025. Health care leaders engaged in dynamic discussions, breakouts, and networking opportunities with like-minded peers committed to building a health care system rooted in equity and justice for all.
As a featured session, L.A. Care Health Plan employees Tanisia Johnson, MPH, and Brighton Kimbell, MSHCM, detailed a program within the organization’s Health Promoters Program called the Digital Resource Program, which features Digital Health Promoters. This program grew out of necessity when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. In need of a different way than in person to reach Los Angeles County residents (and beyond), L.A. Care led the county in digital advocacy, turning its existing health promoters program into social media educators and changemakers.
