L.A. Care Temporarily Closing Resource Centers

Out of an abundance of caution during the coronavirus outbreak, L.A. Care Health Plan has decided to temporarily close its six Family Resource Centers and the one Community Resource Center that it jointly operates with Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan. This closure takes effect tomorrow, Wednesday, March 18 and will continue until further notice.

The fitness, nutrition and health classes had already been suspended as of Monday, March 16. We had planned to keep the Resource Centers open for walk-in visitors and customer service for our members, but the latest guidance from federal, state and local health agencies indicates that it is no longer recommended.

L.A. Care is constantly working to increase access to health-related resources and services, but in a time when COVID-19 is spreading rapidly through our communities, this is the most responsible action. We will continue to provide valuable information on the coronavirus for our members at our What You Should Know About COVID-19 web page.

We will continue our efforts to keep our members and the communities where they live active, healthy and informed.
