What services does Quality Drug Clinical Care (Quality Drug) offer?

Quality Drug can deliver your medications to your home. You can order all your prescriptions by mail, phone, or by visiting the pharmacy.

Quality Drug can ship:

  • Maintenance medications (such as blood pressure and cholesterol medications)
  • Refrigerated items (such as insulin and other diabetes medications such as Ozempic)
  • Diabetic testing supplies (such as lancets and test strips)

Quality Drug cannot ship:

  • Controlled substances (such as Adderall and Norco) 
  • Short-term medications (such as antibiotics)
How do I sign up for mail order service through Quality Drug?

Phone: Call L.A. Care Health Plan Member Services at 1-844-854-7272 (TTY 711) to request mail order registration with a representative. An L.A. Care pharmacy staff member will call you within 2 business days to help you sign up.

Mail: Complete the Customer New Prescription Request form (English or Spanish) and mail it to:

Fax: Fax your completed form to 1-949-404-3760.

In Person: You can drop off your completed form to the above address.

Please make sure you are providing Quality Drug with a valid shipping address and valid payment information. Please make sure your information is written clearly on the form.

Will I need my original prescription(s)?

Yes, Quality Drug requires your original prescription(s). If you do not have your original prescriptions, Quality Drug can quickly transfer prescriptions from another pharmacy on your behalf. Or your doctor may send in a prescription for you.

How do I send my prescriptions to Quality Drug?

You can mail in or hand deliver your prescriptions or have your doctor call, electronically prescribe, mail, or fax your prescriptions to Quality Drug.

What happens after I send my prescriptions to Quality Drug?

Quality Drug will begin working on your order once the prescription is received. Please allow a few extra days when placing an order for the first time and for your prescription(s) to reach Quality Drug. Once the prescription is processed, the medication will be delivered to you within 1-3 business days.

If this is the first time you are having the prescription filled, you will receive a call from pharmacy staff for clarification.

How are the orders sent to my home or work?

Quality Drug currently offers free standard shipping to your home or workplace.

Can my prescriptions be placed on hold?

Quality Drug can hold your prescriptions. Please contact Quality Drug before processing to place your prescription on hold.

What do I need to tell my doctor before I use Quality Drug?

Please tell your doctor to write complete directions for use. Quality Drug cannot dispense an order without valid instructions; “use as directed” will not be accepted.

Please make sure your prescription has refills and is written for up to a 90-day supply.

Can I stop an order or return a prescription?

An order can be cancelled during processing, but cannot be cancelled during delivery.

If an order has been received in error or is otherwise unwanted, please contact Quality Drug at 1-949-471-0223 for refund options.

How long does it take to receive my order?

Quality Drug’s goal is to have your order in your hands 1-3 days after receiving the prescription. If you do not receive your order in 3 days, please contact Quality Drug at 1-949-471-0223.

What if I do not have enough medication and I can't wait 3 days?

Please contact Quality Drug to assist you with your order as there are several options available to you: 

  • Visit in person, please ensure you have your original prescription with you.
  • Quality Drug may be able to transfer your prescription to another local pharmacy to be filled right away.
  • You can also ask your doctor for two prescriptions:
    • One for a short supply of your maintenance medication that your local retail pharmacy can fill right away.
    • A second prescription for a 90-day supply to be sent to Quality Drug.
How do I request refills for my prescription(s)?

Phone: Call 1-949-471-0223 to refill your medications. Quality Drug's customer service line is available Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Be sure to have your prescription number available to give to the pharmacy staff.

How can I pay for my prescriptions?

Quality Drug accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
