While legislative proposals have not yet succeeded, pilot programs are testing the use of medically tailored meals to reduce emergency room visits and hospitalizations, improve health and ultimately save money.
L.A. Care is participating in California's pilot program, Food is Medicine, by supporting Project Angel Food's delivery of medically tailored meals to Medi-Cal patients with congestive heart failure.
