The Eastsider shared news of the upcoming back-to-school health fair at the L.A. Care Boyle Heights Family Resource Center in their Eastside Events Calendar. The event takes place Saturday, August 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m at the Wellness Center in the Old General Hospital, 1200 N State St in Los Angeles.
In collaboration with L.A. Care's partner, The Wellness Center, the fair will give out 1,000 backpacks filled with rulers, pens, pencils, crayons and more. One per child aged four and older, while supplies last.
As parents often struggle to keep a roof over their head and food on the table, back-to-school supplies can fall way down on the list of priorities. For the past four years, L.A. Care has been helping families through its back to school health fairs, understanding that these supplies play a critical role in educational success.
