L.A. Care Holds Job Fair to Fill 300+ Positions at the Health Plan

More than 50 Positions for Nurses are Among the Job Openings

LOS ANGELES – L.A. Care Health Plan has more than 300 job openings and is holding a job fair at its offices on Saturday to help fill many of them. The
health plan listened to its own employees to learn how best to attract new workers in a challenging job market.

The job market is hypercompetitive with job openings recently reaching record highs across the nation,” said Terry Brown, L.A. Care Chief Human Resources Officer. “L.A. Care is meeting the challenge when it comes to wages and flexibility designed to achieve the ideal work-life balance.”

L.A. Care moved to a fully remote workforce at the beginning of the pandemic and plans to keep it for most employees until September of 2024. The health plan provides 12 paid holidays a year, competitive levels of paid time off (PTO), and tuition reimbursement up to $7,500 per year for continuing education.

Like many health care companies, L.A. Care is looking for nurses to help fill care and utilization management needs, which have grown with the state’s launch of California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM). The health plan has more than 50 positions for nurses open right now.

For many of our nursing positions, the employee will have the ability to work from anywhere within the United States, as long as they are licensed to practice in California,” said Brown. “During the pandemic, it became quite clear that employees can often be even more productive when they don’t have to deal with long commutes into the office.”

Open positions can be found across L.A. Care’s departments including Legal, Operations, IT, Appeals and Grievances and the Customer Solution Center (member services). All job openings can be found at lacare.org/careers.

The L.A. Care job fair is:
