L.A. Care Cal MediConnect Members to Get Fit with SilverSneakers®

A New Benefit for CMC Members

LOS ANGELES — L.A. Care Health Plan, the largest publicly-operated health plan in the country, is pleased to announce that SilverSneakers® is a new fitness benefit offered free to its members in the Cal MediConnect (CMC) plan. SilverSneakers provides access to most LA Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness, Golds, Curves, and Planet Fitness locations across Los Angeles County. These locations offer weights, exercise machines, and group classes for all fitness levels.

Cal MediConnect is the only truly integrated product for individuals who are eligible for both Medicare and Medi-Cal. It was designed to be a coordinated healthcare delivery system for these dual eligibles, ending duplicative and inefficient care. The goal is to allow members to age in their homes, and a fitness regimen can play an important role.
