KVEA Telemundo 52 featured L.A. Care's Lynwood Family Resource Center in a segment about the center's January 23 Covered California open enrollment event.
With only a week left before the January 31st open enrollment deadline, the news report talked about the importance of having health coverage as emergencies can happen anytime.

"Get a move on. You should, because you need to have it... because you never know... in an emergency... better safe than sorry," said María Rodríguez, who came into this center to find out about the requirements for her adult son to enroll in a plan.
And having healthcare coverage made a big difference in the case of this other mother, who was in a serious car accident last year, along with her kids. "Oh, I had a terrible accident in which my kids were injured. And if I hadn't had my insurance coverage, the costs would have been much higher than what I actually had to pay," said Maritza Vázquez.
