The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is hosting a national webinar tomorrow titled Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Health Equity Commitments: Experiences from the Field. Alex Li, MD, the Chief Health Equity Officer at L.A. Care Health Plan, is one of three national leaders on health equity invited to share their approach to framing health equity as a business imperative, metrics for evaluating progress, and best practices.
The other panelists are:
- Rishi Manchanda, MD, MPH, CEO of HealthBegins, a national leader in the Upstream Movement, training leaders to improve the social drivers of health and equity at all levels.
- Consuelo H. Wilkins, MD, MSCI, Senior Vice President and Senior Associate Dean for Health Equity and Inclusive Excellence, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Tomorrow’s webinar follows an October2023 Roundtable on the Promotion of Health Equity, in which Dr. Li delivered a presentation on how health equity commitments are defined and supported to achieve internal and external goals. This webinar is being held in response to positive feedback from the Roundtable in which attendees expressed interest in learning more about DEI and health equity implementation.
