L.A. Care Health Plan is a presenting sponsor of Care Harbor/LA, the largest free health clinic in Los Angeles County, on Sept. 27-30 at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. Formerly called CareNow, the four-day event provides free medical, dental and vision services for thousands of the medically underserved.
With the full implementation of the Affordable Care Act less than two years away, L.A. Care will offer attendees education about what’s ahead in health care reform, and how they may benefit from the Health Benefits Exchange, Medi-Cal expansion and more.
As a member of the L.A. Care provider network, we would like to invite you to volunteer at Care Harbor.
In 2011, more than 700 doctors, dentists, optometrists, nurses and other health care professionals and volunteers helped provide services ranging from disease screenings, mammograms, and immunizations, to dental extractions, prescription eyeglasses, and wellness/self-care counseling to more than 3,500 patients.
This year, we will need just as many health care professionals to volunteer their time and services and encourage you to volunteer!
