L.A. Care Health Plan’s new compensation model for its Medi-Cal direct line of business will begin phasing into contracts effective February 1, 2013.
Called the Compensation & Care Alignment Plan, or C-CAP, the model seeks to share risk among L.A. Care, its contracted medical groups, and hospitals. Additionally, the model promotes active collaboration among all three to deliver quality, efficient and coordinated care to L.A. Care members. The model uses a three-way contractual arrangement that incentivizes all three organizations and maximizes payments through capitation payments and via distribution of shared savings.
