2022 Open Enrollment for L.A. Care Covered™ Begins Next Week
LOS ANGELES – As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect people across the state, access to quality health care remains more important than ever. November 1 marks the beginning of a very important three-month period when consumers can shop around and make critical decisions about health coverage for themselves and their families. As the nation’s largest publicly operated health plan, without shareholders to appease, L.A. Care Health Plan is pleased to announce that its L.A. Care Covered™ product has the most affordable rates across all metal levels in Los Angeles County. And in 2022, thanks to federal and state subsidies, some members will have premiums as low as $0 per month.
“About 93 percent of L.A. Care Covered members will qualify for a subsidy. In addition to affordability, L.A. Care can also proudly say it has one of the largest provider networks among Covered California plans, with provider choices such as UCLA Health and Optum,” said John Baackes, L.A. Care CEO. “And L.A. Care continues to offer convenient, high-quality care through in-person and telehealth visits.”
L.A. Care prioritizes health care quality, access and inclusion and is committed to meeting the needs of the diverse communities it serves.

The 2022 open enrollment period runs from November 1, 2021, through January 31, 2022. Renewals began on October 1.
While health care is complicated, and enrollment can seem daunting, L.A. Care has experts to walk you through the process. This year, the health plan is holding a series of nine virtual events in English and Spanish to do just that. The virtual town halls, which can be joined via Webex or phone, will help people understand which metal tier plan is best for them and their family, and they will educate eligible applicants about federal and state subsidies that make premiums even more affordable. No registration is necessary.
