Only Eight Months Left to Receive Your $6,000 Health I.T. Incentive

L.A. Care is pleased to announce the continuation of its Health I.T. Incentive Program. This program runs through September 30, 2010. Eligible physicians may receive up to $6,000 following the adoption and demonstrated utilization of select technologies listed below. Practices with multiple qualifying physicians can earn up to $6,000 per physician.

Incentive amounts that physicians eligible for L.A. Care’s Health I.T. Incentive can receive:

• Up to $1,000 for adopting and using CAIR (formerly LINK)
• Up to $2,000 for adopting and using Disease Registries
• Up to $3,000 for adopting and using E-Prescribing technology
• Up to $6,000 for adopting and using Electronic Health Records (EHR)

According to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) implementation plan, eligible physicians may receive up to $63,750 over six years if they have at least 30% Medicaid patient volume (20% for Pediatricians) and are able to demonstrate “meaningful use” of a certified EHR. L.A. Care’s Health I.T. Incentive Program can help you get started by reimbursing up to $6,000 of your EHR purchase.

Many L.A. Care providers will be eligible for these federal incentives starting in 2011, but investing in these technologies can be capital-intensive, time-consuming and complex. L.A. Care’s Health I.T. Incentive Program is designed to assist practices that have made or are interested in making investments in HIT. For providers who are eligible for ARRA funding, L.A. Care’s program can help position you to qualify for federal EHR incentives.
