Studies by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that suicide rates are on the rise.

In 2016, about 45,000 American lives were lost to suicide. Many individuals who died by suicide did not have a known mental health condition.

There is no single cause for suicide. Relationship issues, substance use, physical health, money issues and/or housing stress are only a few factors that may also contribute to suicide.

Utilizing screenings such as the PHQ-9 depression screening tool can help screen for the presence and severity of depression and refer to services as needed.
