L.A. Care Product Lines

L.A. Care Health Plan is a community-accountable health plan serving Los Angeles County residents with four low-cost or no-cost health coverage programs. With nearly 800,000 members, L.A. Care is the nation’s largest public health plan.

We’re the only plan that offers all four of the following programs — so we can provide an entire family health insurance if they are eligible.

Medi-Cal

Medi-Cal is the only public program that covers some low-income adults (like pregnant women, seniors, and persons with disabilities) as well as children. Our members can choose to get their health care from L.A. Care or from one of the other health plans we work with for Medi-Cal. These include Anthem Blue Cross, Care 1st Health Plan,  and Kaiser Permanente.

Healthy Families Program

The Healthy Families Program offers low-cost health coverage for children under age 19 to families who qualify. A family of four can earn $50,000 a year and still qualify.

L.A. Care’s Healthy Kids Program ®

Healthy Kids offers low-cost health coverage for children under age 19 to families who don’t qualify for Medi-Cal or Healthy Families, but who meet other eligibility and income requirements. Only L.A. Care Offers Healthy Kids.

L.A. Care Health Plan Medicare Advantage HMO

This plan provides both Medi-Cal and Medicare benefits in one easy-to-use plan — including Medicare’s Part D Prescription Coverage.
