It
is the mission of L.A. Care Health Plan to continuously improve the clinical and

through effective medical education programs, in order to facilitate the optimal
delivery of health care services to vulnerable populations and to improve
overall the health care status of the community.
Scope of
Program: The scope of the CME
program includes physicians and other allied health professionals contracted
with L.A. Care, as well as providers outside of the L.A. Care network, within
the greater
Los Angeles
area, to enable collaboration with other entities.
Target:CME participants include primary
care physicians and selected specialists, but programs may also be of
interest to nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and other allied
health professionals.
Activities: CME offerings utilize a
variety of formats in order to include participant and faculty exchange. These
formats range from one- to two-hour meetings to longer half or full day
conferences. Teaching methods include didactic, interactive, demonstrations and
panel discussions, using the most current technologies available, such as online
programs, teleconferencing and CD Rom.
