L.A. Care Health Plan is a local public agency and non-profit health plan serving the residents of Los Angeles County through Medi-Cal, Healthy Families and Healthy Kids, which is funded by First 5 LA through Proposition 10 money (the tobacco tax). It is one of the largest health plans in California and the nation's largest public health plan. L.A. Care is involved in a number of coalitions and collaboratives supporting public health, the safety net and health insurance for vulnerable populations.
