L.A. Care Health Plan is a local public agency and non-profit
health plan serving the residents of Los Angeles County through Medi-Cal,
Healthy Families and Healthy Kids, which is funded by First 5 LA through
Proposition 10 money (the tobacco tax). It is one of the largest health plans in
California and the nation's largest public health plan. L.A. Care is involved in
a number of coalitions and collaboratives supporting public health, the safety
net and health insurance for vulnerable populations.
We
are dedicated to helping Los Angeles County residents obtain health care
coverage for their families from providers who understand and respect them. Our
employees, board and advisory committee members have a unique commitment to L.A.
Care and our health plan members. We live and work in the cities and communities
of Los Angeles County. Our health plan members are our neighbors. We care about
the same things they do, including good health care and building healthy
communities..
