Who We
Are
L.A.
Care Health Plan is a community accountable health plan
that serves nearly 800,000 Los
Angeles County residents through Medi-Cal,
Healthy Families, and
Healthy Kids, a program offered by L.A. Care that is made possible by First
5 LA and the Children's Health Initiative of Greater Los Angeles. L.A. Care is
the largest public health plan in America. We are dedicated to helping Los
Angeles County residents obtain health care coverage for their families from
providers who understand and respect them.
Working on behalf of the
communities we serve, at L.A. Care, we are connected to our members and
responsible to our community. L.A. Care is governed by 13 board members,
representing medical and health care professionals, as well as Medi-Cal
consumers. Several committees advise the board, including:

|
Health Care Professionals Committee |
 |
|
Children's Health Committee |
 |
|
Executive Community Advisory Committee, which
represents 11 Regional Community Advisory Committees composed of health
plan members, advocates and medical
professionals.
|
Our
employees, board and advisory committee members have a unique commitment to L.A.
Care and our health plan members. We live and work in the cities and communities
of Los Angeles County. Our health plan members are our neighbors. We care about
the same things they do, including good health care and building healthy
communities.
