Special Needs Network to Honor L.A. Care CEO Howard A. Kahn with Health Care Vanguard Award

On Saturday, October 4th, the Special Needs Network (SNN) will host its 9th Annual Evening Under the Stars – an awards show and gala fundraiser. SNN is one of the leading local advocacy organizations working on behalf of those with developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorders. 

At the event, SNN will honor L.A. Care Health Plan CEO Howard A. Kahn with the Health Care Vanguard Award for his longstanding commitment to improving health care for vulnerable populations and supporting initiatives designed to improve health outcomes. Other honorees include actress Angela Bassett (Trailblazer Award), entertainer and philanthropist Sheila E. (Everyday Advocate Award) and Dr. Richard Vladovic (Leadership in Education Award), President of the Board of Education of the Los Angeles Unified School District.      

Proceeds from the gala will benefit children with autism and special needs, their families and the first of its kind children's autism medical clinic at the soon to open Martin Luther King Hospital campus in South Los Angeles.
