L.A. Care Invites Residents to Sign Up for Health Coverage by the February 15 Deadline

Los Angeles — L.A. Care Health Plan, the nation’s largest publicly operated health plan serving more than 1.6 million members, will host a wellness and health care coverage enrollment fair at the L.A. Care Family Resource Center in Pacoima on January 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. San Fernando Valley residents will have the opportunity to learn how to stay active and enroll in L.A. Care Covered™, the organization’s Covered California qualified health insurance plan for Los Angeles County. The event and activities are free and open to those seeking to enroll in health insurance before the February 15 deadline.

The enrollment fair will feature the L.A. Care Covered Health Pavilion, where certified enrollment counselors will be onsite for one-on-one assistance to help community members explore their health insurance options. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy fun-filled activities such as Zumba, yoga and smoothie preparation demonstrations.

In order to enroll, individuals must bring their social security number, last income tax return and proof of citizenship or legal residency information.

“As the open enrollment deadline quickly approaches, we’re working hard to ensure that individuals and families have access to high quality, affordable health care,” said L.A. Care Health Plan Chief Executive Officer Howard A. Kahn. “One way we do this is by helping community members understand the health care coverage options that best fit their needs.”

L.A. Care’s Pacoima Family Resource Center is located at El Zocalito on the corner of San Fernando Road and Van Nuys Boulevard. Free parking is available in the center’s parking lot.
