FOX 11 News Talks to L.A Care’s Mildred DeJesus About Open Enrollment

FOX 11 News interviewed Mildred DeJesus, L.A. Care's Manager of Enrollment Support Services, who talked about open enrollment and the confusion caused by President Trump's changes to the Affordable Care Act.

On the show, DeJesus stressed that residents still have access to the consumer subsidy. Consequently, they will see very little change in their premiums, with L.A. Care and Covered California remaining absolutely committed to offering affordable health coverage to consumers.

What we want the viewers to understand is that as of January 1st, what is going away is the subsidy for the carriers. That means the assistance to the people will still be there, so that they can continue to access affordable care.

L.A. Care Health Plan is available to them. We are again, the largest publicly-held health insurance plan in Los Angeles County. We serve over 2 million members. We're very proud of our mission to continue to provide access, affordable care to the residents of Los Angeles County.
