Antelope Valley Times Features L.A. Care's Backpack Giveaway in Palmdale

Friday, August 3, 2018

The Antelope Valley Times reported on tomorrow's back-to-school health fair at the L.A. Care Palmdale Family Resource Center in "Backpack giveaway, free health & dental screenings in Palmdale this Saturday". The event takes place Saturday, August 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m at 2072 East Palmdale Blvd.

Children need the proper tools if they are going to succeed in school, and they feel good about themselves when they have those tools. L.A. Care sees this as another part of our health care mission to help vulnerable populations.

One thousand backpacks filled with rulers, pens, pencils, crayons and more will be handed out (one per child, while supplies last).

As parents often struggle to keep a roof over their head and food on the table, back-to-school supplies can fall way down on the list of priorities. For the past four years, L.A. Care has been helping families through its back to school health fairs, understanding that these supplies play a critical role in educational success.
