L.A. Care partners with 1,200 pharmacies throughout Los Angeles, including Sav-On, CVS, Rite Aid and many neighborhood, clinic and hospital pharmacies.
Step 1: Find a pharmacy with our Pharmacy Search. Or, look in the pharmacy section of your provider directory to find a pharmacy in your neighborhood.
Step 2: Show your L.A. Care ID card when you fill your prescriptions at the pharmacy.
L.A. Care covers both brand name and generic versions of any prescribed drug. Healthy Kids members are responsible for the co-payment.
Drugs That Aren’t Covered
Sometimes, your doctor may prescribe a drug that is not on the list of approved drugs for Healthy Kids. This will require that your doctor call to get authorization from L.A. Care.
L.A. Care will reply to your doctor within 24 hours or one business day after getting from your doctor any other information needed for the request. Your doctor or pharmacist will let you know if the drug is approved. These requests will be evaluated on the basis of an individual patient’s needs.
