How to Get Your Prescriptions Filled

Step 1. Use our Pharmacy Search to choose a pharmacy that works with L.A. Care. Or, look at the pharmacy list in your provider directory.

Step 2. Bring your prescription to the pharmacy.

Step 3. Show the pharmacy your L.A. Care ID card.

You should only pay your co-pay and not be asked to pay for covered prescription drugs . Call L.A. Care’s Member Services at 1-888-839-9909 if a pharmacy asks you to pay more than your co-pay for covered prescription drugs.

90-day Supply of Maintenance Medications
You can now get a 90-day supply of maintenance medications at some local pharmacies. Only medications listed on the 90 day maintenance drug list will be provided. Maintenance medications on the list are drugs that you need to take for a long time, such as pills for high blood pressure or diabetes. Call our Member Services Department for a list of these pharmacies at 1-888-839-9909.

Prescriptions by Mail

You now voluntarily have the option of getting a 90-day supply of maintenance medications listed on the 90 day maintenance list, mailed either to your home or alternate address through our prescription mail order program. Please remember to ask your provider/other prescriber to write a 30-day supply, as well as a 90-day supply of your maintenance medication(s) listed on the 90 day maintenance medication list.

Take the 30-day prescription to a network pharmacy and mail the 90-day prescription to the mail order pharmacy (in the self-addressed postage paid envelope for CVS Caremark), along with the mail order form. The postage for this Mail Order Service is free if you choose to use it. You can call our Member Services Department at 1-888-839-9909  for the form as well as the self addressed postage paid envelope for CVS Caremark. You can also download the form from the link below. (If you choose to print the form, you will need to supply the envelope and the stamp.  The address where to send the form is on the mail order form.)
